Fraser Coast Events
Hervey Bay Whale Festival
The Hervey Bay Whale Festival is an iconic annual event celebrating Hervey Bay's unique "Up Close and Personal" whale watch season. The festival is a dynamic celebration of their coastal community and the unbreakable link between humans and our natural environment. Families and the young at heart can enjoy a day program featuring an eco-expo, a kids recycle factory activity area, workshops, roving entertainment, rides and food and beverage stalls.
The evening concludes with a Live Whale Aid concert featuring a line-up of talented Australian musicians with a focus on raising funds for whale conservation. Food and beverage stalls and a concluding fireworks display complete the celebrations.
Bundaberg Arts Festival
The Bundaberg Arts Festival has been part of the Bundaberg Arts scene which has been held annually for the last 34 years. There are usually between 20 and 25 sections including paintings in a variety of subjects and in various mediums, ceramics, sculpture textiles, photography and literature. Many of the sections are acquisitive with the major award being $5000, sponsored by Bundaberg Sugar Limited.
Entries are received from all over Australia and it is considered a great opportunity for artists to showcase their talents, and for locals and visitors to the Bundaberg region to see and appreciate art, which otherwise would not be available to them in Bundaberg.
